The Empty Cup

 Sometimes, knowledge can stop us from

receiving a message, learning a lesson, appreciating an experience, or crafting a creation; and here's what I mean:

Stepping into the beginner's reality allows us to temporarily suspend our existing knowledge. By doing so before listening to someone, we are allowing ourselves the opportunity to receive their message; by suspending our expertise before learning from someone, we are giving ourselves the right to absorb their teachings; by emptying our minds before experiencing something, we are giving ourselves the chance to appreciate its value, and by ignoring our experience before creating something, we are preventing what we already know from contaminating what we want to create.
